Questions people ask us.

Everything about creating polls, answering them, emails, and what happens to your data. Can't find it? Ask support.

The basics

What is LMK PLZ?

A group scheduling tool. You create a poll with a few possible dates (and times, if you want), share a link, and everyone answers Yes, If needed, or No. The date that works for the most people shows at a glance.

Do guests need an account?

No. Guests open the link, add their name, and answer — about 20 seconds, no accounts, no app. Only people who create polls sign up, with a free account.

How much does it cost?

Core polling is free. LMK PLZ Plus is an optional $2.99 USD/month organizer subscription for applying and customizing themes. Guests always participate free. See plans and pricing or get Plus.

When would I ever pay?

Only when you choose Plus and complete checkout for your signed-in organizer account. Free accounts are never automatically upgraded or charged. SMS is coming soon and will be billed separately when available.

Plus and billing

What happens if I cancel Plus?

Cancel through Manage billing. Access continues through your paid period. Published themes stay; changing or applying a theme requires active Plus. You can still edit ordinary event details and switch a poll back to the standard appearance.

Can I get a refund?

Request a refund of your first subscription payment within 7 days at hello@lmkplz.com. A full first-payment refund ends renewal and new paid theme access. We also review duplicate or erroneous charges; any statutory rights still apply.

Is SMS included?

No. SMS is coming soon. Active Plus subscribers will be able to enable blocks of 5 events, with actual usage billed at calendar month-end at cost plus 50%. No SMS is sold or sent today, and guests must opt in themselves.

Creating a poll

What do I need to create a poll?

A free account, a title, your name, and at least two dates. Time slots, a location, details, and an answer deadline are optional.

Why do I need at least two dates?

A poll is a choice — with one date there's nothing to compare, so we ask for at least two. If your date is already fixed, you don't need a poll: share the plan directly and use the group chat for RSVPs.

Does it work across time zones?

For date-and-time polls, yes: each guest sees the times converted to their own time zone automatically, with a note showing which zone is displayed and a toggle back to yours. Availability-grid ("find a time") polls show the organizer's time zone, clearly labeled. Date-only polls have no times to convert.

Answering

What does "If needed" mean?

"I can make it work, but it's not my best option." When answers are tallied, If needed counts for half of a Yes — so a date everyone can truly make beats a date half the group would have to stretch for.

Can guests change their answer?

Yes — reopen the same link in the same browser and edit away. Answers are tied to the browser they were made in, so from a new device or after clearing your browser data we can't tell it's you; answer again and let the organizer know which entry to ignore.

What if two guests have the same name?

Both answers are kept separately — nobody can overwrite anyone else's response just by typing the same name.

Reminders, deadlines, and finalizing

Does LMK PLZ send reminders?

One, and only when it's useful: about 24 hours before answers close, guests who shared an email address and haven't finished answering get a nudge. Guests who didn't leave an email can't be reminded automatically — sharing the link again in the group chat works best there. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

What happens when the deadline hits?

If you've turned on auto-decide and one date is the clear winner, it's locked in automatically. If there's no clear winner, you get an email asking you to make the pick — we never choose for you when it's close.

What happens after I finalize?

The final date shows on the poll, and everyone who left an email gets the result with a calendar invite attached (when you've enabled notifications for the poll).

What if no date works for everyone?

The results show honest counts — Yes, If needed, No, and who hasn't answered — including ties. You decide what to do with that: pick the least-bad date, add new dates, or take it back to the group.

Your events and your data

How do I get back into an event I created?

Sign in and open Your events — every poll you've created is listed there. You can also use the admin link we emailed you when you created the poll. Keep that link private; it's the key to managing your event.

Can I delete an event?

Yes — open the poll's admin page and choose Delete poll. That removes the poll and its answers, and pending emails for it stop.

What happens to old events?

Polls close 30 days after the last offered date, and poll data is deleted about 30 days after the event wraps up. Deleting or finishing an event does not cancel a subscription. Billing records and consent/opt-out records are retained separately; see Privacy Policy.

Is my data private?

Guests share a name, and an email only if they want the result — that email is used to send poll emails and nothing else. No ads, nothing sold, and events delete themselves after they wrap up. The full details are in our privacy policy.

How do I stop emails?

Every automated email has an unsubscribe link, and it's global: one click stops reminders, results, and invites to that address across all events. Admin-link emails you explicitly request still arrive, since they're how you get back into your own event.
